Shaping up to make its debut as the Showbus Special: the new 1:76 Optare Spectra.

The bus industry’s biggest annual showcase will take place on Sunday, September 16 at the Imperial War Museum, RAF Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

This year the event will celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee with a special Diamond Run of buses from each year of our Queen’s reign from Trumpington to Duxford.

Other anniversaries being feted will be 40 years of the Leyland National and 50 years since the launch of the revolutionary twin steer Bedford VAL. While a salute to the London 2012 Olympics will see a display of Leyland and Volvo Olympians and Optare Olympus buses.

To top this all off, an exclusive show model, the new Jotus Optare Spectra (dual door) in an LT livery (yet to be announced) will be on sale at the stand of the show’s sponsor TTC Diecast.

TTC Diecast also advise that it’s hoped three other new Jotus resin models will also be on sale: the Jotus BEA Regal; the Optare Versa in Arriva colours and a Volvo Ailsa V3 (the latter two being exclusive TTC Diecast commisions).

There will be displays of the new Corgi and B-T Models buses, along with the new Forward Models Birmingham Standards.
