As well as keeping you abreast of all the swapmeets and toyfairs held in the UK and beyond (see our Events page), this website will post details of other vehicle and model related events coming up, where us model collectors are most welcome.

With this in mind, we’ve just received news of three events that may well interest anyone with a penchant for classic vehicles.

The first is held in France, from 2-6 February, and is called Retromobile. As the title suggests, this is an event centred on motoring history – be it road cars, racing or, for the first time this year, motorbikes. This ‘celebration of all things collectable in motoring’ is now in its 36th year, and visitors can expect to see vehicles from across all eras of motoring (even up to the 1980s this year). There will also be an auction of automobilia held there on 3 February.

The event is held at Viparis, Porte de Versailles, Pavillon 7.3,

75015 Paris, from 11am-7pm each day. Admission for adults is 13 Euros. For more information visit

Next up, and closer to the UK, comes a very aircraft obsessed fair, billed as ‘the south west’s biggest and best model show’. Held at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Somerset, the one-day event (19 February) is promising a flying display by the British Model Flying Association, model club and trade exhibits and competitions.

Adult tickets to the show cost £12, which also includes admission to the Museum itself.

And finally, on yet another totally different tangent, comes Toytrac 2011, a festival of all things model Tractor related. The event is held at Wincanton Racecourse in Somerset, and has been confirmed for 15 October, from 10am-3.30pm. Further details have yet to be announced, but we’ll let you know when we get them. For now, if you like model tractors, keep that date free!
