The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum has just revealed details of the specially commissioned model for this year's Open Weekend...
The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum (S.V.B.M.) has just announced that it has commissioned a special limited edition (300 certificated pieces only) 1:76 scale Strathtay Enviro400 from Creative Master Northcord for its open weekend this summer.
It's an exciting subject choice as this bang up to date bus (fleet number 19654 - registration number SV60 DPX) only entered service in the Stagecoach Strathtay fleet in December 2010. The model will accurately portray the 'Tayway' local route network branding and the destination featured will be route 73 to Ninewells Hospital via Carnoustie.
The annual Open Weekend at the S.V.B.M., which is located in an ex-Navy stores depot at Lathalmond, near Dunfermline, Fife, is this year scheduled for Saturday 20/Sunday 21 August. The event will open at 10am and close at 5pm. Admission will be charged at £6 for adults and £3 for concessions and there will also be a family ticket on offer (which admits 2 adults and 2 children) for £15. A free bus service from Dunfermline (at the Old Fire Station) will operate on the hour and half hour from 10am and 5pm.
The model, for which a price has yet to be announced, will go on sale to visitors on the day - but those unable to attend should email Susan Cameron at Lathalmondmodel@aol.com with order enquiries.
A pre-production mock up of the model is not yet available for photography (rest assured we'll bring you pics as soon as possible) but for now, shown here are some pictures of the actual bus we can look forward to seeing in 1:76 scale.
